Humanitarian Projects
Humanitarian Projects
We support a variety of international volunteer programs because we believe in giving back to the global community while promoting an increased understanding of other cultures.
Volunteer Project Types
In addition to handling trip logistics & arranging visits to the typical sites, we can facilitate a variety of interactive components. Build your own program by packaging any or all of these services.
Construction
Teams can assist with facility upkeep (small building projects or painting) or work with a needy family to construct their new home.
Orphan Care
Offer attention, education & arts to kids of all ages. You can even work with special needs children or counsel caregivers.
Sports
Use sports & activities as a springboard for teaching important life skills including leadership, teamwork & conflict resolution.
Empowerment
Offer training & mentorship in English, computers & other technical skills to combat unemployment at its source.
Medical
Assist health care workers with medical, dental & optometry services in communities with limited access to medical care.
Food & Clothes
Distribute meals & clothing to the impoverished, or work in a thrift shop or greenhouse to generate project funds.
Disabled/Elderly Care
Offer love & companionship through simple gestures, like styling a woman's hair, or assist caregivers with daily activities.
Conservation
Want to work with sea turtles, African lions or something in between? There are countless ways to help preserve wildlife.
Volunteer Projects
Here are just a few examples of volunteer projects:
Tanzania: Medical Volunteer Project & Wildlife Safari
This program gives medical & nursing students a unique perspective on healthcare, as they travel through Tanzania & interact with local staff at a variety of medical facilities. Work alongside local doctors at a hospital in Arusha, lead workshops on empowerment to encourage adolescent women of Arusha & learn about other local efforts in the area that are reaching out to women, men & children in need. After the volunteer project, enjoy a few days in famous wildlife areas – participating in exciting safari game drives.
Tanzania: Mt. Kilimanjaro, Wildlife & Maasai Community Project
Discover the farm life at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. This unique, cultural experience is one of many on this 9-day tour. You’ll also hike through the bush with the Maasai & learn about their natural medicine traditions. Help build a water catchment so a community of Maasai can have fresh & sanitary drinking water. Observe nature in motion, up-close, as you canoe through Momella Lake. You can participate in a traditional goat grilling ceremony too. You won’t want to miss out on this great opportunity to improve the quality of others’ lives & experience the essence of Tanzanian culture.
Romania: Volunteer Projects in Gepiu & Tileagd
Since the fall of communism in Eastern Europe twenty years ago, life for Romanians has continued to be very difficult. Particularly in northwest Romania, where unemployment & education drop-out rates are very high, access to medical care is limited, families struggling with crisis receive little or no help & homelessness is reality for far too many families.
Come help the people of northwest Romania by working with any of 20 projects that meet immediate, urgent needs, while providing long-term solutions. Teams will be provided translators, transportation & an orientation upon arrival, as well as housing, complete with meals & en suite bathrooms.
