Itinerary
Day 1: Cairo
Arrive at the airport in Cairo & transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Cairo – Alexandria
In the morning, board a train heading for Alexandria. The trip features a stop in Wadi El Natrun to visit the monasteries. Highlights in Alexandria include the Library of Alexandria, the Roman Amphitheatre & Pompey’s Pillar. Return to Cairo for dinner & an overnight stay.
Day 3: Cairo
Enjoy riding camels today across the sands of Giza. See the Great Pyramids & the Great Sphinx. Other highlights include the Solar Boat Museum.
Day 4: Cairo
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of the Citadel of Saladdin & the Old Cairo Hanging Church. After lunch, explore the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Other highlights today include the Museum of Cairo, which features treasures of King Tutankhamun & a mummy room.
Day 5: Cairo – Al Fayyum
Visit one of Egypt’s ancient capitals, Memphis. Learn about its role several thousands of years ago, including the dynasty that ruled it. See the Stepped Pyramid of King Zoser, the tomb of Meriruka & the tomb of TI. Afterward, travel to Al Fayyum for dinner & an overnight stay.
Day 6: Al Fayyum – Al Minya
See the Pyramid of Maidum & the oasis before heading to Al Minya. After checking into the hotel, enjoy spending the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 7: Al Minya
Sightseeing highlights today include the Deir Al-Adra monastery & the tombs of Beni Hassan.
Day 8: Al Minya – Luxor
Travel toward Luxor and visit the Temple of Hathor & the Abydos Temple on the way. Upon arrival in Luxor, spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 9: Luxor
Head across the Nile River to the Valley of the Kings and view King Tut’s tomb. Next, visit the Valley of the Nobles, the tomb of Senejem, the deir Eld Medina, & the Medinet Habu.
Day 10: Luxor – Aswan
In the morning, visit the Luxor Museum, the Temple of Luxor & the Temple of Karnak. Enjoy lunch in Luxor & travel to Aswan in the afternoon. Enjoy exploring the Nubian Museum after arriving in Aswan.
Day 11: Aswan – Abu Simbel – Cairo
Visit the Aswan Quarries today on the way to the airport. Board a domestic flight to Abu Simbel where you will enjoy a half-day tour. Afterward, return to the airport & board a domestic flight to Cairo. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in Cairo.
Day 12: Cairo – USA
Transfer to the airport & board the return flight home.
