Itinerary

Day 1: Rome
Arrive in Rome & transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day to rest or explore on your own. Evening reception & dinner to meet your tour escort.

Day 2: Rome & Sorrento
This morning, you'll visit some of the major Roman sites, including: the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon, Trevi fountain & other ancient sites. After lunch, you'll travel to the Sorrentine peninsula & your home for the next four nights.

Day 3: Sorrento & Amalfi Coast
Enjoy an exhilarating ride along the Amalfi coast this morning with a stop at the cathedral in Amalfi & lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit Vietri, the ceramics capital of Southern Italy. See the famous pottery being made.

Day 4: Sorrento, Pompeii & Naples
Take a guided tour of Pompeii. See homes, shops & public baths that provide a glimpse into life before the eruption of 79 AD. In Naples, enjoy a drive with an incredible panoramic view followed by a brief walking tour.

Day 5: Sorrento
This is no typical tourist day in Italy. Visit a local farmhouse & learn about life in southern Italy. After a tour of the farm, learn to make pizza the Italian way & enjoy your own creation for lunch! Free time in the afternoon for shopping in Sorrento.

Day 6: Naples & Chianciano
This morning is an early departure for Tuscany. There's a stop at the Duomo (cathedral) in Orvieto with its beautiful Gothic façade. Then you'll end the day in Chianciano Terme for a welcome reception & dinner.

Day 7: Chianciano
Today, you'll visit the lovely little hilltop village of Pienza & then head to Montalcino for a food & wine tasting at one of Italy's most famous wineries.

Day 8: Florence
Early departure for a guided tour of Florence. The rest of the day is at leisure to shop or visit the famous statue of David.

Day 9: Siena
A guided tour in the heart of Tuscany to Siena. Visit the Duomo & see the square where they hold the Palio horse races. Visit a famous Tuscan hilltop town, San Gimignano, where at one time almost 100 towers dotted the landscape.

Day 10: Rome
Depart early for Rome and a guided tour of the Vatican museums & Sistine Chapel. You will have free time during which you can visit St. Peter's Square & the Bascilica. After lunch on your own, check into the hotel in Rome.

Day 11: Rome
Depart for the U.S.
