Start the day by visiting the “heart of Iceland,” which is not only the best location to view the Mid-Atlantic Ridge but also the site of Iceland’s first parliament’s founding in 930 AD. Next, refresh your energy with a piece of bread baked with geothermal energy at Lake Laugarvatn. Lake Laugarvatn’s geothermal bread-baking experience highlights Iceland’s local geology and the many adaptations made by residents. Continue admiring Iceland’s natural beauty with a visit to Gullfoss Waterfall, the largest waterfall in Europe in volume. View Iceland’s exciting center of geothermal activity Geysir Geothermal Area, home to the Strokkur geyser which erupts every 6-10 minutes. Expand your knowledge of geothermal energy and how it is utilized in Iceland for sustainable food production by visiting the Friðheimar Greenhouse Farm. End the day with an Icelandic Horse Demonstration featuring five-gaited horses.
