Cusco to Machu Picchu Trekking
Take an amazing journey (often on foot) through the mountains of Peru & explore the fascinating remains of the 15th-century Inca civilization. Located northwest of Cusco, the ruins are about 8,000 ft. above sea level, so you'll enjoy breathtaking views.

Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco
You will meet your guide & transfer to your hotel followed by a half-day city sightseeing tour.
Day 2: Ollantaytambo, Llactapata, & Wayllabama
You'll depart the hotel at 4:30 a.m., transfer to the Sacred Valley & into Ollantaytambo. You'll have time to visit the surrounding area before making your way to kilometer 82 where the trek begins. Our pace will be an acclimatization & very soon we’ll stop at our first archaeological complex, Llactapata, at kilometer 88 (2,550 m above sea level). Here you'll have 30 minutes to visit before continuing to walk to Wayllabama where you’ll camp for the night.
Day 3: Sayamarca, Phuyupatamarca, & Wiñaywayna
After breakfast, you’ll ascend to Runkurakay. We’ll visit Sayamarca, & appreciate the valleys & snow capped mountains. Further on, you’ll stop to visit the complex of Phuyupatamarca & then descend 3 kilometers until you arrive at Wiñaywayna. You’ll visit its complex of Phuyupatamarca & camp.
Day 4: Machu Picchu & Cusco
After our early morning breakfast, you’ll walk to Intipunco, called Door of the Sun, where you’ll be able to observe the impressive Lost City of Machu Picchu. You’ll walk to the Sanctuary for a guided tour. At a suitable hour, you’ll walk down to the station & take the return train to Cusco & transfer to the hotel.
Day 5: Cusco
Transfer to the airport to return home.
